MISSION & HISTORY.

The Central Iowa Community Land Trust was founded in 2025 with the mission of empowering residents to create equitable, resilient, and thriving communities through permanently affordable housing.

Working in partnership, A Mid-Iowa Organizing Strategy (AMOS), the City of Des Moines, the City of West Des Moines, Polk County, and an advisory committee made up of community members laid the groundwork for the Central Iowa Community Land Trust (CICLT). Incorporated in 2025, the CICLT is now working to become an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The CICLT is dedicated to stewarding permanently affordable housing in our community.

SERVICE AREA.

The Central Iowa Community Land Trust currently includes all of Polk County, as well as all of Des Moines, West Des Moines, and Waukee.
