Community Land Trusts (CLT) are nonprofits that hold land in trust for the permanent benefit of low and moderate income residents. Community Land Trusts are designed to protect affordable housing. The Central Iowa Community Land Trust focuses on holding land to make homeownership affordable and accessible for the first buyer and every buyer after. By being able to access homeownership, buyers that would otherwise stay renters get a path to build wealth and stability in their home. 

 

Using a classic Community Land Trust model, we aim to: 

• Increase access to homeownership

• Create opportunities for wealth building and generational wealth

• Contribute to the stability of homeowners and neighborhoods

• Preserve community investment in affordable housing
